The city has a total land area of 78.5 square miles. There are roughly 36,000 housing units with most of the properties built from 1995 to 1998. Prices start at about $155,000 and can get as high as $308,000, with an average price of around $239,945. Average price per square foot is $127 making it an affordable option within the Las Vegas area. Houses vary in their architectural designs, which give buyers a whole range of options.
Shopping/Entertainment
Major highways or freeways that lead to North Las Vegas include State Routes 604 & 607, and Interstates 15 & 215. The city is approximately just 2.5 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, keeping it close enough to enjoy the action of the Strip’s buzzing shopping and entertainment choices. Directly in North Las Vegas, there are also a few hotels and gaming establishments.
Parks & Recreation
Surrounded by valleys and mountains, North Las Vegas offers a host of recreational activities to choose from. Camping, biking, skiing and hiking are just some of the activities one can enjoy while partaking in the scenery. Lake Mead National Recreation Area is just a few minutes away from the city center, putting outdoor entertainment within easy reach.
Medical Facilities/Schools
North Vista Hospital is the biggest hospital in the city, and has been in service since 1959. Within a few minutes from the downtown area, the facility has over 800 physicians and specialists, as well as 185 beds for inpatient cases. Clark County School District provides for the city’s public education needs. The College of Southern Nevada as well as the University of Nevada – Las Vegas both offer college education in the surrounding area.
